FAQ
1. Do You Offer Discounts to Clients?
Yes, we are pleased to offer a standard 5% discount to clients who qualify under one of the following categories:
Senior Citizens,
Veterans,
Active Military Personnel,
First Responders (Police, Firefighters, EMTs),
Facebook Followers.
You may combine two applicable discounts, however, the second discount will be reduced to 1% when combined. Example: If you qualify as a First Responder (5% discount) AND are a Facebook Follower (1% add-on), your total potential discount is 6%.
2. What brands of paint do you use?
We are equipped to work with virtually any paint brand, including industry leaders like Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, PPG, Behr, and many others. If you are looking for guidance, we are happy to provide a tailored recommendation based on your specific project goals and budget. We always strive to be transparent and will certainly inform you if a reputable, high-quality brand offers a more cost-effective option without compromising the desired outcome.
3. Paint Types and Sheens: Which is the Best Choice?
Guide to Paint Sheens
The main types of paint sheens include Gloss, Semi-Gloss, Satin, Eggshell, and Flat (or Matte).
A Note on Sheens: Be aware that not all paint lines offer an Eggshell finish, and in some brands, the difference between Eggshell and Satin may be negligible. In cases where a specific paint line does not offer both, we may use Satin as an equivalent if Eggshell was originally specified. We will always communicate this change to you.
Choosing the right paint type is crucial for specific applications.
Considerations include:
High-moisture areas (e.g., bathrooms and laundry rooms).
Waterfront properties.
High-traffic areas or homes with young children (requiring highly washable surfaces).
Rental properties that need frequent cleaning.
Areas requiring mold or mildew resistance.
4. How do you select the right sheen without overpaying?
We are here to help. We will always provide clear, expert guidance on the appropriate paint type and sheen for your project. Based on our detailed recommendations, you will be able to make an informed decision. We typically present several suitable options, offering a thorough explanation of the pros and cons of each choice.
5. How Long Will the Job Take?
The duration depends on several factors: scope and type of work, ceiling heights, whether the space is furnished or vacant, and the number of stories. Along with your detailed quote, you will receive a clear timeline specifying the projected start and completion dates. On average, our team can complete painting a standard home of approximately 1,000 square feet (walls, trim, and ceilings) in 6 to 10 days.
6. Why Was My Neighbor's Larger Home Quoted at a Lower Price?
This is a common question, so we want to briefly outline the key factors that can increase the cost of a painting project:
Furnished Spaces: Working around furniture requires additional time for moving, covering, and preparation.
Color Complexity: Using a different color in every room, plus multiple accent walls, increases labor and material costs.
Intricate Trim: Extensive crown molding, wainscoting, or elaborate trim work requires meticulous detail work.
Textured Surfaces: Painting textured walls and ceilings (such as orange peel or knockdown textures) often requires more paint and specialized techniques.
Color Change: Switching from a very dark color to a light color (and vice-versa) usually necessitates more coats and greater material use.
Scheduling Restrictions: Requests to paint only one room per day, working alongside other contractors simultaneously, or strict early finish/late start times all impact scheduling efficiency and labor costs.
Repair and Prep: Walls with numerous holes, cracks, and dents that require extensive patching and sanding before priming.
We encourage you to review your detailed quote, which specifically accounts for these variables in your home, ensuring you receive an accurate and fair price.
7. Can the Final Price Differ from the Quoted Price?
Yes, due to:
1. Scope additions mid-project: You decide to add accent walls, specific trim pieces, or other features mid-project;
2. Unforeseen repairs: During the preparation phase, we discover damaged trim or baseboards that require replacement or extensive repair work before painting can begin;
3. Material procurement: You originally agreed to supply the paint, but we ended up purchasing it on your behalf due to time constraints or convenience;
4. product upgrades: You decide to upgrade to a higher-tier paint line or premium -nish during the project.
I can assure you that any changes to the final invoice will never be a surprise. We strictly adhere to a policy of transparent communication, always agreeing on the cost of additional work before it is executed and keeping the client updated with revised figures.
8. Do You Paint Interiors or Exteriors?
We do not limit our services to either. We handle house painting projects of any complexity, from multi-story exteriors to high-complexity interior elements like high stairwells, detailed staining, and staircases requiring specialized coatings.
Our Workflow
STEP 1: Discovery & Consultation
Getting to know your needs and defining the goals of the upcoming work. We can connect in the way that suits you best: via an in-person meeting, video conference, phone call, or text messaging.
STEP 2: Site Visit & Detailed Assessment
We visit the location to perform precise measurements and a thorough inspection of the workspace. Our goal is to identify any technical nuances or specific project requirements early on. If we discover a need for potential additional work, we prioritize transparency by consulting with you and providing all necessary information upfront. We believe in no hidden costs.
STEP 3: Transparent Estimating & Scheduling
We prepare a preliminary estimate with a clear, itemized breakdown of labor and materials. There are no hidden fees or "masked" numbers—only honesty and clarity. Once the quote is approved, we coordinate the start date, add your project to our official schedule, and establish a firm timeline for completion. We value your time and aim to keep the process efficient and predictable.
STEP 4: Preparation & Workflow Execution
To ensure a smooth process, we require access to electricity, water, restroom facilities, and on-site waste disposal. However, our commitment remains the same: we will see the project through to completion regardless of the circumstances.
Our Protection Process: We take detailed photos of every room, move furniture to the center and cover it with plastic, use heavy-duty drop cloths, and remove all outlet/switch covers to mask off everything that cannot be removed.
Efficient Room Rotation: We typically work using a "staggered" approach (moving from room to room as coats dry). This overlap saves you both time and money. A "one-by-one" method is also available at an additional premium rate.
STEP 5: Completion & Cleanup
Once the project is finished, we focus on returning your space to its functional and comfortable state. Our team carefully removes all painter’s tape, plastic sheeting, and drop cloths. We reinstall all outlet covers, switch plates, and window blinds. Using our initial photos as a guide, we move furniture back to its original position and re-hang your artwork and mirrors. We take pride in leaving our workspace clean.
STEP 6: Cleaning Standards & Finalization
We take pride in leaving our workspace clean. However, if your property is being prepared for immediate rental or a new tenant, we recommend additional light cleaning (such as mopping) to ensure the space is 100% dust-free and ready for occupancy.
